Throughout the game, each character possesses three skills as well as a Super. It features real-time combat and efficient use of cooldowns. The game does, however, have its own twist. The game follows the same storyline as the light novel but also features some brand new characters invented just for the game. This turn-based RPG focuses on a high school student who was reincarnated to a fantasy world where he had to fight against a villainous Devil King alongside a useless goddess, an explosion fanatic, and an unhinged crusader. Despite the fact that the game has its own storyline, many of the characters appear in both the novel and the game: Aqua, Megumin, Eris, Darkness, Kazuma Sato, and others.
